In this session, Jacobson explores the use of advanced analytics to assess the probability that a combination of seeds will advance in the NCAA men's basketball tournament (aka March Madness) based on historical tournament results. Beginning in 2011, this model was adapted into a web-based tool, allowing users to assess prospective brackets online and leading to significant popular and media attention.
